Estelle Veale Lee "Beadie"

Estelle V. Lee, daughter of the late Estelle W. Veale and Walter Veale was born on December 19, 1923 in Lewiston, NC. Estelle was called from labor to reward on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the age of 94. Estelle was preceded in death by her mother, father, Clara Veale, step-mother, Mary V. Sessoms, sister, and Otis Veale, brother.

Estelle was raised in Lewiston, NC and educated in the Bertie County School System. At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Lewiston, NC.

Estelle met and married Christopher C. Lee, Sr. (70 plus years) and from this union came 3 wonderful children (Christopher Columbus, Mary Elaine, and Christopher Porter). They moved to Washington, DC in the mid-40’s. Estelle worked for years at The Raleigh Hotel in Washington, DC, until she found employment at DC General Hospital, where she worked for many years until retirement.

Estelle joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church on March 25, 1973 and was a faithful member until her health began to fail. She was an active member of the Senior Usher Board, Nurses and the Silent Ministry.

Estelle is physically gone, but will live on in the hearts of her family & friends. Family was important to her. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons Christopher C. Lee, Jr. (Celestine) and Christopher P. Lee, Sr., her sister Ruth Willis, her brother Willie Veale, her four grandsons, Christopher P. Lee, Jr., AJ Lee, Oliver Lee, and Jonathan Lee, her three granddaughters, Deneen Lee, Brittney Lee, and Melanie Fenwick and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Lewiston, NC with Rev. Battle officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Lewiston, NC.
