I will always have fond memories of Mrs. Whitehurst. She mentored me as a beginning teacher at Bertie Senior High School. I became a successful teacher because of her guidance and support. We shared the ride to and from school and worked in the same Department. It was a joy to be her co-worker. I am so sorry to hear of her passing, but God knows what he is doing. I know God will give comfort to the family just as he is giving me comfort since I recently lost two family members.

Mrs. Battle was a very sweet and intelligent woman. She was my English teacher 25 years ago at Bertie High and it felt so good to have known her in the time that God had allowed. Mrs. Battle will greatly be missed but Gid had a better plan for her in her eternal life. May God bless this family with continually blessings from on high.

I'm so sorry to hear of her passing. My condolences to all of the family. I know there is a big rejoicing in heaven even though there are tears and pain left with you. I am a former student and have very fond memories of her at Bertie. She will be missed greatly by all.
