Washington, NC Mrs. Ethel Mae James Godard, 68, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014. Mrs. Godard was born in Martin County. She was a member of Smithwick Chapel Church of Christ in Williamston, NC. Survivors include husband David Godard of Washington, NC; two daughters, Letitia Godard-Johnson of Washington, NC and Beverly Godard of Cary, NC; five brothers, Abner James of Williamston, NC, Oliver James of Washington, NC, William James of Williamston, NC, Rudolph James of Portsmouth, VA, Thomas James of Robersonville, NC; one sister, Mary Holiday of Williamston,NC and three grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 1-6 pm on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Manson Mortuary, Williamston NC. The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Smithwick Chapel Church of Christ in Williamston, NC with Bishop William T. Collins officiating. A viewing will be held at the end of service. Burial will follow in the Godard Town Cemetery in Washington, NC.
