Williamston, NC Mr. Johnnie W. Scott age 93 died Friday, August 19, 2011 in Martin General Hospital. Mr. Scott was born in Martin County. He worked as a farmer and was a member of Back Swamp Church of Christ (DOC). Survivors are his son, Bishop Melvin Scott of Williamton, NC; daughters, Annie Scott Ross of Richmond, Va, Essie Scott Perpignan of Williamston, NC and Julia Scott of Brooklyn, NY. A sister; Margie S. Askew of Maryland. 23 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 1-5 p.m., on Friday, August 26 at Manson Mortuary, Williamston, NC and on Saturday, August 27 at noon at Back Swamp Church of Christ. A funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Back Swamp Church of Christ (DOC) with Rev. Dr. Shawn Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Park.
