Mrs. Martha Gray Brown Peele, 79, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at home.

Mrs. Peele was born in Martin County.

Survivors include her husband, Johnnie Peele of Vanceboro, NC; four daughters, Vickie Murphy of New Bern, NC, Sheila Miller of Chicago, Ill., Beverly Pelham of Chicago, Ill., and Jennifer Adderley of Charlotte, NC; six brothers, Walter Speller of Windsor, NC, James Speller of Windsor, NC, Russell Speller of Windsor, NC, King Milton Speller of Windsor, NC, William T. Speller of Selma, NC and Nathaniel Speller of New York, NY; four sisters, Nellie Roberts of Windsor, NC, Bettie Forde of New York, NY, Ollie B. Speller of New York, NY and Della V. Speller of New York, NY; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Manson Mortuary, Williamston, NC.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Williamston, NC with Bishop Andre Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Williamston, NC.
